Hover your cursor over the words Buildings-of-London-catalogue each time they appear on the screen. (Not the main title but further down, in a smaller font.) If it turns blue, click on it: do this a couple of times and you will be taken through to the catalogue of all original artwork from the book “Buildings of London”, including sizes and prices. Artwork will be on sale at the South East Open Studio in June.
Poppies at the Tower – a painting of the installation at the Tower of London which caught the imagination of the public in the period leading up to 11 November – is complete and has been delivered to Cancer Research UK. It will be auctioned at the “Emeralds and Ivy” charity ball on behalf of the Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer Research UK on 6 December.

This year, Article 25’s 10×10 is centred on the River Thames and The Shard. I was assigned square C3, on the North Bank, directly opposite The Globe. In fact, I soon decided that the best thing about my square was the view of the opposite bank, including Tate Modern, The Globe, Southwark Cathedral, and the lively River frontage. By contrast the North Bank, which is part of the City, is altogether more serious.
I spent several hours exploring, gathering bits of tickets, leaflets and newspapers which I have used as collage and integrated into the painting.
Together with 99 other works by artists and architects the painting will go on display and be auction at The Shard. All funds go to Article 25 for its fantastic work. Last two years my paintings have each raised £3000 – here’s hoping someone likes this one just as much!
In memory of James Middleton-Stewart, ADP Partner who very sadly passed away last year, I have done a painting (see attached) which tries to capture a fund-raising cycle trail that the practice has organised. A team of cyclists will be cycling from ADP studio-to-studio: beginning in James’ home town Sherborne, on to London, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester and finishing seven days later in Newcastle. I am doing the London to Oxford leg on Bank Holiday Monday 26 May.
My painting will be auctioned, and all the fund-raising is towards the Marudyan Society. James was instrumental in establishing links with this organisation which provides education to needy children in Gurguan, India. Our aim is to raise £15,000 – enough to build a school for 150 children.
